A Day in the Field

As the sun rises over Jacksonville Beach, my day at Hammond Heating & Air Conditioning begins with our morning team briefing. The Florida heat doesn’t wait for anyone, and neither do our customers’ HVAC needs.

Morning Routine: 6:30 AM

The day starts with checking my service van’s inventory. Essential parts, diagnostic tools, and safety equipment – everything needs to be in perfect order. Our preventive maintenance appointments are usually scheduled first thing in the morning.

Mid-Morning: 9:00 AM

Today’s first stop is in Fleming Island, where a customer needs their annual AC system inspection. These routine checks are crucial in Florida’s climate:

• Checking refrigerant levels
• Cleaning or replacing filters
• Inspecting electrical connections
• Testing thermostat functionality

Afternoon Rush: 1:00 PM

After lunch, I head to Middleburg for an emergency AC repair. Florida summers can be unforgiving, and a malfunctioning air conditioner is more than just an inconvenience – it’s a comfort and safety issue.

Late Afternoon: 4:00 PM

The final scheduled stop takes me to Doctors Inlet for an air conditioning installation consultation. We discuss:

• System sizing requirements
• Energy efficiency options
• Installation timeline
• Cost estimates

Evening Wrap-Up: 6:00 PM

Back at headquarters, I complete paperwork, update customer files, and prepare for tomorrow. Sometimes we get emergency calls, and our team is always ready to respond when our community needs us.
